There is something trust in God does for us. Something nothing else can do. It is able to keep us sane and peaceful even in the wildest of storms. People who know the tough times you are going through may see you and wonder how come you are not falling apart!
Friends, trust in God allows you to surrender all your cares to Him, it enables you to freely enjoy His presence amidst that trial, and it gives you peace, the kind of peace that surpasses human understanding.
The Bible says in Isaiah 57:15 " For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones"
God dwells with those who are lowly, troubled, in sorrow and in pain. Those who are in any kind of turmoil. When we are happy and excited, we may not feel God's presence as strongly as when we are in turmoil. He is definitely with us when we are fine and happy but during times of trouble, He is even closer, to comfort and guide us.
Trust in God helps us Live above the storms we face in life because we trust that He allows everything we go through to happen to us for our own good.
We can therefore face these storms without allowing them to throw our souls into fury. When someone provokes you, for example, you may allow it to get to you and make you lose your peace of mind. On the other hand, you may choose to respond truthfully and peaceably and not allow to develop any poisonous feelings.
However, that is only possible when you are aware that everyone is an instrument of God. That He allows us to sharpen each other through frictions of all natures. Like sandpaper smoothens out a rough surface, frictions with people smoothen out our rough edges. Iron sharpens iron(prov 27:17). Therefore, do not look at the person as the enemy, rather look at the big picture, what is God teaching me here? what sin in me is He exposing?
Knowledge of that is what makes us thank God in all circumstances because we know that God is using these painful circumstances to polish our characters. Making our righteousness shine brighter.
May God help us to live above the storms of our lives.
God bless you
